BSF detains 1 Bangladeshi

BSF has detained one Bangladeshi, a day after it released four Bangladesh nationals.

On Friday BSF picked up one Jajangir Alam, 32, son of a local resident Mohiuddin, from Dharmagarh Chiknii check post under Ranisankail Upazila, BGB said.

Molani camp commander of the BGB confirmed the incident.

Former UP member Siddik Ali and other locals said like every other day, people living around the Chiknii check post localities had gone to catch fish in Nagar River and on the other side of the river, within Bangladeshi territory, for agricultural activities and to shepherd cattle.

Around 11 am Kukradah BSF camp members crossed the barb-wire fence and detained Jahangir from inside Bangladeshi territory. They later took him to the Indian side.
