In a press briefing at the college’s cafeteria, the students demanded the robbers’ arrest and measures to ensure their security.

Services at the hospital were at a halt on Sunday as intern doctors stopped their work to express solidarity with the students.

No doctors were available at its emergency unit from morning, said Amzad Hossain, relative of a patient who came from Bogra Sadar.

On Thursday, a gang of armed men broke into a common room of the the hostel where 17 first year students were staying. The students were rendered unconscious before being robbed of laptops, cell phones, cash and jewellery.

Some said the men attempted to harass them sexually.

Students of the college have said they will continue their movement to press for a seven-point charter of demand.

The college’s Principal Ahsan Habib could not be reached over phone.

Police are yet to detain anyone or recover the looted goods.

Bogra Sadar police OC Saidul Haq said they were trying their best.
