According to election officials, polling began at 8am and will continue until 4pm at the Rowmari Keramatia Madrasaa and Char Bandaberh Primary School.

Voting at both these centres was suspended on Jan 5 due to violence.

A total of 7,257 voters are listed with the two polling centres.

Returning officer and DC of Kurigram ABM Azad said that police, RAB and BGB have been deployed in both the centres to avoid any untoward incident.

Voting at more than 500 polling stations in 8 constituencies was suspended on Jan 5 due to large-scale violence unleashed by the 18-Party alliance, which had boycotted the election.

Repolls were later held at these centres on Jan 16 except in Kurigram-4 due to a stay order by the High Court.

Later the Supreme Court overruled the HC order paving the way for repoll in these two centres.
