Poor get job after skills training

Poor, unemployed people in remote villages are now finding jobs after a three-month skills training, the ILO says.

According to International Labour Organisation, 22 trainees from rural Gazipur and remote North Bengal region were employed as Junior Machine Operators in local readymade garment factories.

Another 26 people are now undergoing training in the second batch.

The Skills Development and Sustainable Livelihood Generation Project is being implemented with the partnership among the East Knitting & Dyeing Industries, IDLC Finance, the ILO TVET Reform Project, Gazipur Technical School and College, Care Bangladesh, and Shiree.
