Building leans over in Mymensingh

A four-storied residential complex has started to lean precariously over an adjacent building in Mymensingh town.

All its residents have been evacuated from the building.
Mymensingh municipality Chief Excecutive Engineer Sharaf Uddin said that the building in Shikdarbari area has leaned over an adjacent building on Tuesday night.
Fire service and local Civil Defence Assistant Director Abul Hossain confirmed evacuation of all residents of the leaning multi-storey building.
Authorities marked out the building as potentially dangerous and asked all its residents to leave.
The building was vacated around 12 midnight.
Locals say the building is owned by one Sikandar Ali – an expatriate living in Saudi Arabia – was constructed some years back.
Police, municipality Chief Executive Engineer and fire service have rushed to the area after hearing of the leaning building.
