Chittagong, Sept 7 (bdnews24.com) – Three survivors of the tragic Mirsarai road accident have been sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
They were taken to Dhaka's Apollo Hospitals from Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) in a flight on Wednesday as their condition deteriorated.
They are likely to be shifted to India on Sep 12, if the visa and ticket processes are complete on time.
The three survivors -- Raihan Uddin Shuvo, Nayan Shil and Jewel Barua -- are students of Abu Torab High School, 40 of which died in the fatal accident.
Nayan lost much of his eyesight in the accident and his left side remains paralysed, while Raihan and Jewel are suffering from meningitis, according to CMCH director Brig Gen Mostafizur Rahman.
He told bdnews24.com, "For better treatment, they have been sent to Dhaka. They will be sent to India once their condition improves."
Mayani Union Parishad chairman Kabir Ahmed Nizami told bdnews24.com that with the financial help from local MP Mosharraf Hossain and Mirsarai upazila chairman Giasuddin, they would be taken to India.
The accident took place on July 11 when a truck carrying the victims, returning after watching a football match, skidded off a muddy road near Abu Torab Bazar in Mirsarai.
