A land dispute has injured 20 villagers in Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidaha district.

Jhenaidaha, Apr 9 (bdnews24.com) – A land dispute has injured 20 villagers in Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidaha district.
Of the injured, six were admitted in Kotchandpur hospital after the clash that broke out around Saturday noon.
Mahespur sub-inspector Matiar Rahman told bdnews24.com that the clash followed hostilities over securing control of the government owned 'Khas Land'.
"The clash broke out between villagers of Adampur and Modonpur of Mahespur upazila with the residents of Syedpur, Ajampur, Hogoldanga, Naranpur and Mangirpara of Chougachha upazila of Jessore," Matiar said.
He said, "The rivals fought with spears, machetes, sticks, and brick bats."
Later the police brought the situation under control, he said.
