2 killed in Khagrachari

Two indigenous persons were killed by unidentified criminals at Dighinala upazila in Khagrachari early Saturday.

Khagrachari, June 26 (bdnews24.com) — Two indigenous persons were killed by unidentified criminals at Dighinala upazila in Khagrachari early Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Kusumpriyo Tripura, 28, of Noimaiyl in Khagrachari Sadar Upazila, and Barsha Chakma, 27, of Baradam area of Dighinala Upazila, both belonged to the reformist faction of the Parbatta Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity.
The locals said that shot Kusumpriyo and Barsha when were at a local tea stall at Bagapara around 6am.
Barsha and Kusumpriyo died in the spot.
Locals claimed that both the activists had allegations against them and suspected that the murder might have occurred over the previous dispute.
Dighinala Police Station officer-in-charge Subhas Chandra Paul confirmed bdnews24.com of the incident.
"We have been informed of the murder."
