Gono Forum President Kamal Hossain and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir speak at a rally in Dhaka's Gulistan. The political leaders had come together to press for a list of demands, including a nonpartisan election-time government, ahead of the parliamentary polls. Their parties would eventually come together to form the major opposition to the Awami League in the election.
