The hotel will feature leisure and corporate facilities and will also have a retail wing, Mövenpick said in a statement.
Guests can enjoy a variety of facilities at the proposed establishment, such as the rooftop swimming pool, the signature spa, a fitness centre, tennis court, bowling alley and a 12,600 sq ft adjacent shopping area.
The hotel will also offer an assortment of dining options, including an all-day restaurant, a specialty bistro and a lounge.
Business travellers will be able to take advantage of the business centre as well as the city’s largest meeting rooms.
"This is the second Bangladesh property we have signed in the last 12 months and we look forward to establishing ourselves as the first international hotel chain in Sylhet," said Mövenpick’s Chief Development Officer Andrew Langdon.
“Bangladesh has a rapidly developing economy with a rising, affluent middle class,” he said. “This will be a key driver of our business as we look forward to offering corporate and leisure travellers to the city an internationally-branded, upscale hotel experience."
Mövenpick has already begun developing projects in Dhaka, Khulna and Cox’s Bazar.
