Sophia, the humanoid robot resembling Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn, is about to add spark to this year's Digital World expo that kicks-off in Dhaka on Dec 6.

The ICT Division released the video message on Thursday where Sophia is heard saying: "Hello Bangladesh, I'm Sophia, the world's first artificially intelligent robot from Hanson Robotics.

“I'm excited to let you know that Dr David Hanson and I will participate in this year's Digital World 2017 in Dhaka. I cannot wait to be a part of this great event. Thank you to ICT Division Bangladesh government and Islami Bank Bangladesh to create this opportunity for us.”

Expressing hope to meet the Bangladeshis, Sophia says in Bangla, “Dhonyobaad", or “Thank you” in English.

Sophia will be present at the Hall of Fame inside the Banganandhu International Conference Centre from 2:30pm to 4:30pm on the first day of the exhibition.

The four-day expo will conclude on Dec 9.

Sophia was built by Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics Ltd, which says its humanlike robots have remarkable expressiveness, aesthetics, and interactivity.

She became the world’s first robot citizen after receiving Saudi citizenship in October this year.
