Bangladesh to showcase ICT feats at Digital World 2017 expo from Dec 6

Bangladesh will showcase its achievements in the ICT sector at the Digital World 2017 exhibition.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the four-day exhibition on Dec 6, the organisers said in a media release on Monday, a month before the expo.
"Through the Digital World 2017, we will showcase our developments to the local and international IT giants," State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, according to the statement.
Palak expressed gratitude to the prime minister and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, who also advises her on ICT affairs, for her 'bold leadership', Joy's 'direct supervision' in the progress in the Awami League government's Digital Bangladesh initiative.
"I also invite our people to come to the Digital World and comprehend the current Bangladesh," the state minister said.
The multi-facet expo will be providing a platform to establish network with the local and regional or global IT-ITES industry leaders and experts with a view to share their best practices and experiences, the release says.
More than 200 spokespersons from top IT organisations including Google and Nuans will take part in different sessions of the exposition.
The exhibition this year will be composed of expositions and elements like e-Governance Expo, Software Showcasing, more than 300 stalls and pavilions for IT Exposition, more than 24 seminars, conferences and policy dialogues, ICT Career Camp which will occupy various zones.
There will also be corners namely Software Showcasing, e- Governance Zone, e- Commerce Zone, Gaming Zone, Experience Zone, Startup Bangladesh Zone, Mobile Innovation Zone, Made-in-Bangladesh Zone.
The exhibition, with the theme of 'Ready for Tomorrow' this year, aims to connect investors, innovators, entrepreneurs, industrial leaders and IT workforce of the country.
The ICT Division, in association with Bangladesh Computer Council, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services and Access to Information Programme or a2iProgramme of the Prime Minister’s Office will organise the event.
