Golam Rabbani Chhoton’s team dominated the semifinal to win it 4-0 at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu on Friday.

Sanjida Akhter gave Bangladesh a dream start by striking in the first minute. The midfielder’s screamer in the first attack through the right wing flew over the goalkeeper in the 66nd second.

Bangladesh extended the lead in the added time of the first half. Mishrat Jahan scored her second goal in the tournament after the goalkeeper cleared from a corner but the ball went to Mishrat.

Krishna Rani Sarker almost sealed the victory with her third goal in the tournament. The forward dodged a Bhutanese defender in the box to hit the target.

Defender Shamsunnahar (senior) scored the final goal in the 86th minute from a spot kick to bury the tie.

In Sunday's final, Bangladesh will take on Nepal, who beat India 3-1 in penalty shootouts after the tie was deadlocked at 1-1 in normal time of the other semifinal.

Shamsunnahar and Co beat the other finalists 2-1 in the group stage.
