Dhaka, July 24 (bdnews24.com) – The Bangladesh Football Federation Thursday signed a three-year partnership deal with country's oldest mobile operation Citycell.
"We have finalised the different clauses of the deal after a bilateral discussion and it has received official recognition since today (Thursday)," BFF president Kazi Salahuddin told reporters at a press conference at the BFF House.
Citycell was initially giving Tk one crore to the federation ahead of the Federation Cup, said the BFF boss adding that the mobile operator would also provide another Tk two crore -- one crore for the B. League and the rest for school tournament in October-November.
Citycell chief executive officer Michael Seymour and Salahuddin signed the deal on behalf of their respective organisations at the crowded press conference.
The BFF on July 14 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Citycell worth 16.5 crore.
Seymour said that they were confident of the new leadership of the football federation and that it would be possible to resurrect football in Bangladesh that had a football heritage, and had to work with the youth in this regard.
Citycell will be the title sponsor for the upcoming Federation Cup, the B. League and the School football tournament across the country, and to be co- sponsor in all tournaments the BFF organises.
In line with the deal, the BFF would have to organise 16 programmes including leagues and tournaments in a calendar year.
