Five political parties that have taken part in the Consensus Commission’s extended dialogue on state reform have not signed the July National Charter over differences.

Despite their absence, the majority of leaders from parties involved in the talks, as well as the commission members and Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, signed the political agreement.

The signing ceremony was held at 5pm on Friday at the South Plaza of the parliament.

Out of 30 parties and alliances involved in the talks, 24 signed the Charter, committing to implement the commission’s reform proposals.

After signing, Yunus said political parties and the commission have "made the impossible possible", adding that this will stand as an example to the world.
