ACC prosecutes JP MP Kazi Firoz Rashid for grabbling land of ex-diplomat

Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has procesuted Jatiya Party Presidium Member and MP Kazi Firoz Rashid for allegedly encoraching land of a former diplomat in upscale Dhanmondi by forging documents.

ACC Deputy Director Julfiqar Ali started the case with Tejgaon police on Wednesday.

ACC Secretary Abu Mohammed Mostafa Kamal said Rashid has been accused of grabbing land by forging documents.

A bigha of land at Dhanmondi-2 was owned by former diplomat Mohammed Ali who had willed the land to his wife Aliya Mohammed Ali, his son Sayed Mahmud Ali and daughter Sayeda Mahmud Ali in 1970.

But in 1979, with the help of Dhaka District Registrar M Ahmed, Rashid made fake document of the land, and has been occupying it since then, said the ACC Secretary.
