The Jatiya Party state minister in the 'all-party' interim government did not show up the Rokeya Padak distribution ceremony on Monday at Osmani Memorial Auditorium.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will give away Rokeya Padak this year.

Jharnadhara Chowdhury and Prof Hamida Banu are being awarded the ‘Begum Rokyea Padak’ this year for their contribution to the cause of female education and women’s rights.

The award ceremony is held every year with the minister or state minister usually in the chair.
