BNP has disclosed a list of its detained and injured leaders and activists over the dawn-to-dusk countrywide general strike called for Tuesday.

Dhaka, Nov 30 (bdnews24.com) – BNP has disclosed a list of its detained and injured leaders and activists over the dawn-to-dusk countrywide general strike called for Tuesday.
After the hartal, BNP provided the list to reporters in the afternoon.
BNP secretary general Khandker Delwar Hossain at a press conference at the Naya Paltan office said more than 3,000 leaders and activists of the party were arrested from Saturday to Tuesday.
The BNP second-in-command further alleged that over 1,800 of their leaders and activists were also injured in police actions during the hartal day.
In Dhaka, the police arrested some 36 BNP supporters. The police also charged baton on a BNP rally, led by BNP's joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, when it started from Naya Paltan in support of the general strike.
Nilufar Chowdhury Moni MP, BNP's executive committee member Mostafizur Rahman Babul, former MP Helen Jerin Khan, Matsajibi Dal (Nationalist Fishermen's Party) president Rafiqul Islam Mahatab, Mohila Dal (Nationalist Women's Party) leaders advocate Ferdous Akther Wahida, Advocate Arifa Jasmine, BNP leader Tofazzal Hossain, BNP's volunteer wing Jatiyatabadi Swecchasebok Dal leader Munni Chowdhury Medha, BNP's youth front Juba Dal leaders Hasibur Rahman Hasib and Momin Bapari, Krisak Dal (Nationalist Farmers' Party) central leader S M Mohasin were among the detainees.
The police arrested three pro-BNP lawyers – Shamima Akther Shammi, Abul Kalam Khan and 'Manik' – from the Judges' Court premises.
BNP claimed that the police arrested more than 50 BNP leaders and activists at Keraniganj and Kamrangir Char areas.
Shammi Akther MP, JaSaS president M A Malek, Juba Dal central general secretary Saiful Alam Nirab, central BNP leaders Abdul khalek Hawlader, Kazi Rafique, Mortazul Islam Badru, Faruk Ahmed, Keraniganj Model Upazila BNP's joint convenor Hasmat ullah Nabi and Juba Dal leader Harun-or-Rashid were injured in clashes with the police, when the party claims over 250 were injured.
In Munsiganj, police arrested some 27 BNP men over the general strike.
In Noakhali, the police charged baton on a BNP rally and some 35 BNP men were injured in the clash. Some 46 BNP men were arrested from the rally.
The police in Sylhet arrested more than 50 BNP leaders and activists including South Surma Upazila BNP leader Tazrul Islam and Osmani Nagar unit Chhatra Dal convenor Rumel Ahmed.
Moreover, some 12 people including Sylhet BNP president advocate Abdul Gaffar, Sylhet Metropolitan BNP's vice-president Jalali Pinki, Sylhet Lawyers' Forum president advocate Ashique Uddin, general secretary advocate Atiqur Rahman Sabu were critically injured as the police charged baton on a BNP in support of the strike.
In Kushtia, the police seriously beat up and assaulted some 40 people including the district BNP president and general secretary, while the police in Rajbari detained some 28 BNP men from a rally.
The Satkhira police arrested some 42 BNP leaders and activists including its Kalaroa Upazila BNP leader Mohiuddin and Jamirul Islam.
Some 40 to 50 BNP men including central BNP leader Khairul Kabir Khokan, advocate Abdul Baset and Din Mohammad Dipu were arrested in Narasingdi.
The police in Comilla arrested some 49 BNP men from South Comilla Upazila.
Some 18, 44 and 15 BNP men were arrested in Mymensingh, Faridpur and Manikganj respectively over the Tuesday's countrywide general strike.
In Naogaon, the police beat up at least 20 people including Nationalist Lawyers' Forum leader advocate Motaleb Hossain, advocate Rafiqul Alam and advocate Timir Mahanta.
BNP leader Nazim Uddin of Chittagong Metropolitan City were severely injured and some 57 others suffered minor injuries as the police charged baton on a BNP rally at Kazir Dauri Intersection which was led by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's advisor Mir Nasiruddin.
The police also arrested some 33 people from the rally.
The police in Sherpur arrested 18 people and beat up seven others indiscriminately while Swecchasebok leader Mizan was arrested in Sirajganj.
Some 13, 18, 10, five and another five BNP men were arrested in Khulna Metropolitan City, Madaripur, Bhola, Rangamati and Dinajpur respectively during the strike.
In Moulvibazar, the police severely beat up some 30 to 35 leaders and activists of BNP and its associate organisations and also arrested eight others.
The police in Narayanganj, arrested nine people including BNP leaders A T M Kamal and Ali Ahmed Lala, and also injured some 25 others, while seven BNP leaders and activists were arrested and 20 people including former MP Anwarul Islam were injured in Pabna.
In Joypurhat, a number of people were injured as the police charged baton on them for taking out a procession in support of the general strike. Some 32 people including istrict BNP leaders Aminul Islam, Alamgir Hossain and Jahangir Hossain were arrested in this connection.
