Rangpur-3 goes to Roushan

Rangpur, Apr 2 (bdnews24.com)—Jatiya Party candidate Roushan Ershad bagged Rangpur-3 constituency in Thursday's by-election.
Roushan bagged 87,847 votes in 136 polling centres, election official Shaukatul Islam told bdnews24.com.
Her nearest rival BNP candidate Rahim Uddin Bharosha got 25,524 votes
A total of seventeen candidates were contesting in Thursday's six by-elections to Bogra- 6 and 7, Rangpur- 3 and 6, Kurigram -2 and Kishoreganj-6 seats.
Election commissioner M Sohul Hussain estimated around 50 percent of the 1,842,000 registered voters cast their ballots in the six constituencies.
"Polling was peaceful in most areas," said Hossain.
