Dhaka, March 4 (bdnews24.com)—The body of former minister and cabinet secretary Md Mahbubuzzaman, who died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore Monday, will be brought back to Dhaka Wednesday. He was 82.
Updates with President's condolence message
The first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital in Dhanmondi, followed by two others at the Bangladesh Secretariat mosque and Dhanmondi Baitul Aman mosque after johr prayers.
Mahbubuzzaman will be buried at Banani cantonment graveyard.
President Iajuddin Ahmed Tuesday expressed deep condolence at the death of Mahbubuzzaman.
In a condolence message, the president referred to the "colourful career" of Mahbubuzzaman and said people would remember with respect his contribution to "civil and social service".
"In his death the nation lost an experienced civil servant and a social worker," Iajuddin said.
In a separate condolence message, chief adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed prayed for the salvation of the departed soul.
Fakhruddin remembered the huge contribution of the "brilliant late member of the civil service" to the administration.
The CA extended sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
Mahbubuzzaman became a member of the HM Ershad cabinet after retirement as cabinet secretary.
