Dhaka, May 4 (bdnews24.com) -- Police Friday confiscated household items at the home of LDP presidium member and former state minister Redwan Ahmed in Comilla.
A team of Chandina police raided Redwan's home in Chhatatta village in Mohitail union at about 11am Friday and confiscated the goods in connection with a case under the Narcotics Act filed with Uttara Police Station in Dhaka after a state of emergency was imposed.
Redwan, who worked for the BNP-Jamaat alliance government as former state minister for liberation war affairs, told bdnews24.com: "I obtained bail from the High Court Thursday.
"The raid and confiscation were completely motivated and aimed at tarnishing my image. The case filed against me is motivated."
Chandina police chief Motiur Rahman Friday told bdnews24.com that the confiscated goods included wooden chairs, tables, beds, electric fans and other household items.
After the promulgation of the state of emergency, the members of the law-enforcement agencies raided the Uttara house of Redwan Ahmed and recovered two bottles of alcoholic beverages. Later a case was filed under Narcotics Act.
Redwan joined the Liberal Democratic Party on Oct 27 last year.
