Dhaka, Oct 18 (BDNEWS) – The first round of DRockstar, a talent-hunt programme sponsored by the GrameenPhone's youth brand DJUICE, ended its first phase short-listing 100 promising singers of Rock genre from around the country.
Eminent rock star Ayub Bachchu selected the competitors out of nearly one thousand participants by listening their audio records. In the next phase of the programme, Bachchu will select 30 qualified competitors.
The organisers disclosed the preliminary result and announced the next phase Tuesday at a press conference at a city hotel. GrameenPhone's Deputy managing director Frank Fodstad and marketing director Kafil HS Muyeed were present.
Authorities said that a 12-episode TV programme would be telecasting from the third week of November along with the viewers through SMS and thus 15 would be scrutinised for the next round. Channel I, the media partner of the programme, will present the programmes, they said.
In the next two episodes top 10 from the 15 candidates would be short-listed for DRockstar. The last episode will be a gala round where the DRockstar will be selected and 10 top participants including the Drockstar will perform songs composed by Ayub Bachhu.
The Top 10 finalists will get a chance to record an album with Ayub Bachhu, and it will be launched on December 16—the Victory day.
