Bangladesh bowling coach Shaun Tait has resigned from his position citing family reasons, according to a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) statement.
The board said on Thursday that Tait had informed the board of his circumstances and had initially expressed a willingness to continue in the role on a reduced schedule.
However, both parties ultimately agreed that stepping down was the most appropriate course of action.
The BCB press note said the decision was reached amicably and with mutual understanding.
Tait, a former Australian fast bowler, joined Bangladesh's coaching staff in May 2025.
According to the BCB, he made a significant contribution to the development of the country's fast-bowling resources during his time with the national side.
The board credited him with helping to strengthen Bangladesh's pace attack, saying he played an important role in improving the fast bowlers' skills, consistency and effectiveness across all formats of the game.
The BCB noted that Tait was part of a successful period for the national team, during which Bangladesh recorded a number of notable performances and results.
Tait said, "It has been a privilege to work with the Bangladesh National Team and to be part of a talented and committed group of players and support staff.
"This was not an easy decision, and I sincerely appreciate the understanding and support shown by the BCB throughout our discussions.
"I am proud of what the pace bowlers have achieved and I believe they have an exciting future ahead. I wish the team every success going forward."
