The price of gold has dropped in Bangladesh barely 15 days after it rose.

Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) in a statement to the media on Tuesday said the drop in gold price by Tk 1,050 per bhori (11.664 grams) followed the global fall.
The price was raised by Tk 1,516 per bhori on Aug 22. A bhori of gold was being sold at Tk 43,273 as per that price until Tuesday.
Gold of 22-carat will be sold at Tk 42,223 per bhori from Wednesday in line with the revised price.
The price of 21-carat gold will be Tk 40,124, instead of Tk 41,173.
The price of 18-carat gold has been reduced from Tk 34,525 to Tk 33,475.
For gold calculated on traditional method, customers will have to pay Tk 22,569. Earlier, the price was Tk 23,094.
Price of silver has also fallen. The merchants will charge Tk 933 for a bhori of 21-carat silver.
According to international standard, there is 91.6 percent pure gold in 22-carat gold, 87.5 percent in 21-carat, and 75 percent in 18-carat.
In the traditional method, gold is acquired from old ornaments. There is no standard of purity in this method.
