The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the business environment for US investors in Bangladesh.

The commitment was highlighted at a commemorative event jointly organised by AmCham and the US Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday to mark the 250th anniversary of US independence, the chamber said in a media statement.

According to the statement, AmCham President Syed Mohammad Kamal emphasised the potential for expanding bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and the United States.

He also reiterated the chamber's commitment to further improving the business climate for US investors.

The event celebrated the United States' 250-year journey of independence while reaffirming the longstanding partnership between Bangladesh and the US.

Speakers also underscored the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, economic cooperation and people-to-people engagement.

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen reaffirmed Washington's strong commitment to deepening economic cooperation and praised AmCham's role in advancing commercial relations between the two countries.

Mahdi Amin, the spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), highlighted Bangladesh's investment potential, ongoing reform initiatives and the government's commitment to ensuring policy stability and creating an investment-friendly environment.

He also invited greater US investment in key sectors to promote technology transfer and generate employment.

The programme also featured a cultural segment showcasing American music.
