The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been reduced by Tk 2.30 per kg for June, following a decline in international market rates.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new rates on Monday, with the revised prices coming into effect from 6pm the same day.
According to BERC, the average contract price of propane and butane set by Saudi Aramco--used as the global reference-- stands at $580.50 per tonne for June, down from $597 in May.
Based on that index, the per-kg retail price of LPG has been adjusted to Tk 116.94, down from Tk 119.24 in May.
Autogas prices have also been lowered. The rate has been fixed at Tk 64.30 per litre, a reduction of Tk 1.27 from last month’s Tk 65.57.
Gas supplied through the reticulated system has been priced at Tk 113.19 per kg for June.
The BERC has also revised cylinder rates across sizes. Under the new pricing:
12kg cylinder is now Tk 1,403
15kg at Tk 1,754
20kg at Tk 2,339
25kg at Tk 2,924
30kg at Tk 3,508
45kg at Tk 5,262
The price adjustment reflects international market shifts that impact local retail rates set by the regulator each month.
