Berger Paints MD Rupali elected BPMA President, Duncan’s Shahid Khan General Secretary

Berger Paints Managing Director Rupali Chowdhury has been elected President and Duncan Paints MD Asaduzzaman Shahid Khan General Secretary of the Bangladesh Paint Manufacturers’ Association or BPMA.

The members of the association elected them for 2019-2020 at their  41st Annual General Meeting held recently in Dhaka, the BPMA said in a media release on Tuesday.

BPMA was formed to resolve problems faced not only by its members but by the paint industry as a whole.

“The association seeks to encourage, recognise the highest standards of paints and also safeguard the interest of the paint producers,” it said.

Its new chief Rupali is the first female MD of a multinational company in Bangladesh, according to the release.

She was also elected President of the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) for the second straight time recently.

Some other members of the new BPMA executive committee are Senior Vice President Shafiqullah Khan of Pailac Paint, and vice presidents Dr Nuruzzaman of Imperial Paint, Abdur Rahman of Anchor Paint, and Hamidul Islam of Ujala Paint.
