Prabhu accepted the invitation saying he would like to make the visit in June, the high commission said in a statement.
He expressed his satisfaction at the growing level of trade and commerce between India and Bangladesh. But, he said, there is much to improve.
Prabhu showed keen interest in travelling through rural areas of Bangladesh during the visit to see for himself the government’s poverty-reduction programmes and development activities. He also is in charge of the aviation ministry.
The bilateral trade has almost tripled in the last 10 years from $2.75 billion in 2008-09 to $7.52 billion in 2016-17. Bangladesh is India’s biggest trade partner in South Asia.
