The court also ordered Zubaida Rahman to surrender to the trial court in the case filed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
On Wednesday, the bench of Jusctie Obaidul Hassan and Justice Krishna Debnath gave the order setting an eight-week deadline to turn herself in.
In 2007, the ACC filed the case against former prime minister Khaleda Zia’s elder son Tarique, his wife Zubaida and his mother-in-law Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu on charges of concealing information on assets.
Tarique faces charges of earning around Tk 48.2 million from undisclosed sources and concealing information on the assets.
His wife and mother-in-law were sued for assisting him and concealing information.
According to the case detail, Zubaida received two fixed deposit receipts (FDR) worth Tk 3.5 million from Tarique.
The ACC pressed charges against them on Mar 31, 2008.
Following a petition by Zubaida, the High Court stayed the case for two months on Apr 8, 2008.
The ACC’s appeal to withdraw the stay was rejected, bringing the hearing on the case to a standstill.
