A two-day fundraising fair in Dhaka has raised money to support breast cancer patients, with organisers describing it as both a financial and awareness-building effort.
The Pink Carnival, hosted by the non-profit TishCAN, took place on Sept 19-20 at Pink Terrace in Gulshan.
The fair featured stalls with donated items from individuals, entrepreneurs and brands, as well as pink-themed food and activities, the organisation said in a statement on Saturday.
“We are deeply grateful to our partners, sponsors, and the community who came together to make this event a success,” said Nuzhat Tarannum, TishCAN’s founder.

She added the carnival was not just about raising funds, but also about “building solidarity and showing our warriors that they are never alone in their journey”.
Organisers said the proceeds will go directly towards treatment, wellness initiatives and awareness programmes for breast cancer patients.
TishCAN, which describes itself as a support circle for cancer patients, said it would continue to expand its work in raising awareness and offering assistance.
