Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given assurances that “regular” power and gas supply to Bangladesh’s industrial factories will resume from Tuesday night, says FBCCI Administrator Md Fazlul Hoque.
He said, "The prime minister said that from [Tuesday] night, In Sha Allah, we will be able to return to the gas and power situation that we were in before this current crisis.
"We think this is the biggest achievement, the biggest news of relief from [Monday’s] meeting."
On Monday, the prime minister held a three-hour long meeting with representatives from 21 business organisations at the Secretariat. Fazlul spoke to reporters after the meeting.
The briefing did not clarify what is meant by a “return” to the previous gas and power situation.
When asked about this, no clear answer was given.
Asked about what constituted the old situation at the briefing, Fazlul said that the phrase referred to the situation before the current gas and power crisis in August.
