Heavy to very heavy rain is on the way for much of Bangladesh, with the north and south-east facing the biggest soaking.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department's morning bulletin says light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds and lightning are likely across much of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, with some parts of Rajshahi and Dhaka also catching spells.
Isolated areas across the country could see very heavy downpours.
Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman told bdnews24.com on Tuesday that the likelihood of heavy rainfall remains predominantly high in the northern region, while some areas in the southeastern part of the country could also witness downpours.
The Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions are most likely to bear the brunt, he added.
The Met Office defines heavy rain as 44 to 88mm falling in 24 hours and very heavy rain as anything above 88mm.
In the 24 hours to 6am, Teknaaf in Cox's Bazar recorded the country's highest rainfall at 45mm.
Pabna’s Ishurdi topped the temperature chart at 35 degrees Celsius, while Sylhet logged the lowest at 24.2 degrees.
