Inqilab Moncho has announced plans to launch a movement to oust the government if the trial over the killing of Sharif Osman bin Hadi is not completed within 22 working days.

The organisation’s Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber made the announcement on Friday afternoon from a sit-in at Shahbagh.

“The government has sought time until Jan 7. We had given them 30 working days on [Dec 25], and now 22 working days remain,” he said, adding that they have started a countdown based on the government’s promises.

“If the government fails to complete the trial of this murder within that period, we will begin a movement to topple the government,” he added.

Jaber also said by Jan 7, the authorities must not only identify and charge those who directly carried out the killing, but also submit a charge sheet against all those involved behind the scenes.
