The interim government has appointed new secretaries to nine ministries and divisions, with two existing secretaries reassigned and seven promoted from additional secretary positions.

Cabinet Division Secretary (Coordination and Reform) Mahmudul Hossain Khan has been made a member of the Planning Commission while Special Officer (Secretary) at the Ministry of Public Administration Md Mostafizur Rahman has been appointed as secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

Additional Secretary Aleya Akter of the Ministry of Public Administration has been promoted to secretary of the Statistics and Informatics Division.

Additional Secretary Md Kamal Uddin of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works has been assigned as secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

Md Tazul Islam, chairman (grade-1) of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation, has been appointed as secretary of the Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division.

Md Mizanur Rahman, registrar (additional secretary) of the Office of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms, has been named secretary of the Parliament Secretariat.

Mohammad Abdur Rouf, additional project director of the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project, has been promoted to secretary of the Bridges Division.

Additional Secretary Jaheda Parveen of the Cabinet Division has been assigned as secretary (coordination and reform) in the same division.

Additional Secretary Mahbubur Rahman of the Information and Communication Technology Division will now serve as secretary of the Ministry of Commerce.

The public administration ministry issued two notifications on Tuesday, signed by Deputy Secretary Jamila Shabnam, confirming the new appointments.
