Abdus Sobhan Sikder made PM’s Principal Secretary

Abdus Sobhan Sikder has been made the PM’s Principal Secretary. He was in- charge of the public administration ministry as a Senior Secretary.

Sikder will be replacing Shaikh Md Wahid-uz-Zaman, who is going on leave prior to his retirement from Tuesday.

A 1981 batch civil services official, Sikder was born in Feb 16, 1956.

He is supposed to go retire on Feb 15, 2015.

He had served as the DG of Bangladesh Rural Development Board, Secretary-in-charge of the Planning Commission’s IMED and the shipping ministry.

Later he was made the Secretary of the shipping ministry.

Sikder was appointed as the Home Secretary in 2009.

Meanwhile, two other secretaries have been shifted.

Education Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury will take over the public administration ministry.

Election Commission Secretariat’s Secretary Muhammed Sadique has been appointed to the education ministry.

Sadique will be replaced by the EC’s Additional Secretary Sirajul Islam as the Secretary-in-charge. Dhaka’s Additional Division Commissioner Md Mokhlesur Rahman will replace Islam at the EC.
