The Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) is preparing to hold recruitment examinations for 13,599 posts of heads and assistant heads at private educational institutions.
For the first time, the recruitment of these posts will be conducted through the NTRCA.
NTRCA Chairman Aminul Islam said the recruitment notice for the examinations is “ready”.
On Tuesday night, he said: “Our notice is ready, but once the notice is issued, applications must be taken online, and that platform is not yet ready.
He said the application platform remains unavailable as operations are ongoing under the “Seventh Recruitment Notice (Special)-2026” for appointing 67,208 teachers and lecturers at MPO-listed private educational institutions.
The results of the recruitment process for the 67,208 teachers and lecturers were published on Wednesday.
Referring to technical support for the application system, Aminul said a meeting with state-owned mobile operator Teletalk is scheduled for Thursday.
“If a final decision is reached there, we hope to send the recruitment notice for institution heads and assistant heads to newspapers the same day.
“In that case, the notice will be published in Friday’s papers,” he said.
A circular issued on Tuesday by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education said the NTRCA will conduct an 80-mark written examination and an 8-mark viva for these posts.
The total marks for the recruitment examination will be 100, with the remaining 12 marks allocated based on candidates’ academic qualifications.
Since 2015, teacher recruitment at MPO-listed private institutions has been conducted through the NTRCA, while appointments of institution heads and deputy heads were made by governing bodies or managing committees.
Amid allegations of irregularities and corruption in those processes, however, the decision was taken to place the recruitment of institution heads and deputy heads under the NTRCA.
