Police arrest former Dhamrai MP Malek

Police have arrested MA Malek, former Awami League member of parliament for Dhaka's Dhamrai.

Malek has been named in four cases filed with the Ashulia Police Station over the killings of students and members of the public during the July Uprising.

He was arrested from his house in Mirpur following a raid on Wednesday night, said Dhaka Additional Police Superintendent (Savar Circle) Shahinur Kabir.

Malek is at the Ashulia Police Station. He will be taken to a Dhaka court on Thursday, the police officer said.
