Four people have been killed and three others injured after an oil tanker collided head-on with an autorickshaw on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Sylhet’s Osmaninagar.
The crash occurred in the Brahmangram area on Saturday afternoon, according to Anisur Rahman, chief of Sherpur Highway Police Station.
Police said the Padma company tanker was travelling from Sylhet towards Dhaka when it collided with the autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction.
The impact left the autorickshaw mangled and seven people injured.
They were taken to Osmaninagar Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared four of them dead.
Three of those killed were passengers on the autorickshaw, police said.
The identities of the dead and injured could not immediately be confirmed.
The crash comes just over two weeks after nine people were killed when buses operated by Unique Paribahan and Bengal Paribahan collided in Osmaninagar on Aug 7.
