Jahangirnagar University has suspended all classes and examinations on Sunday following the prolonged process of the JUCSU and hall elections.
The announcement came on Saturday in a media statement signed by Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman.
According to the statement, teachers, students, and administrative staff were engaged in election preparations, polling, and counting from Sept 10 to 13.
It added that many worked sleepless nights and are now exhausted, while general students have also faced mental strain. Taking the overall situation into account, the university decided to suspend all academic and administrative activities.
Admission-related offices for the 2024-25 academic year first-year honours programme will remain open.
Classes and administrative work will resume on Monday, but all scheduled final examinations will remain postponed, the statement said.
