Singer Mainul Ahsan Noble has been sent to jail after a Dhaka court scrapped his bail for reportedly violating the terms of compromise in a case filed for “embezzling Tk 1.3 million and attempting to film a young woman against her will”.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raju Ahmed gave the order on Thursday, said plaintiff's lawyer Nasidus Zaman.
Noble, who secured bail on Feb 24 a day after his arrest in Narayanganj’s Siddhirganj, attended the hearing.
Accusing him of violating the bail terms, the plaintiff's lawyer pleaded for him to be sent to jail.
"After the hearing, the court cancelled his bail and ordered him to be sent to jail."
Police said the case was filed on Aug 13, 2025 after a woman claimed that Noble, “promising marriage”, had detained her in his studio and pressured her into producing objectionable photos and videos.
He also tricked her into paying Tk 1.3 million, according to the plaintiff Ananniya Shabnam Rose alias Ananya.
The Police Bureau of Investigation submitted a chargesheet against five people, including Noble, on Jan 7.
The arrest warrant was issued on Feb 2.
When he was produced in court on Feb 24, the plaintiff raised no objections to the bail order issued on the terms of compromise.
Ananya, however, said she was assaulted in his Demra house that very day.
The other suspects in the case include Noble’s mother and wife.
