He also exchanged greetings with President Md Abdul Hamid at the presidential palace on Wednesday after the prayer session.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda were among the many dignitaries present in the event.

Maulana Saiful Kabir, imam of Bangabhaban Jame Masjid, conducted the event.
The programme was capped by a special prayer for the welfare of Liberation War martyrs and for the peace and prosperity of the country and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
