North South University student dies after fall in bus at Dhaka’s Hatirjheel

A North South University student has died after falling inside a bus at Dhaka’s Hatirjheel, police say.

Police identified the victim as Fahim Rafi, 20, a second-year undergraduate student of economics at the private university.

His father Md Maniruzzaman, a resident of South Basabo, is a general manager of state-owned mobile phone operator Teletalk.

The doctor who attended to him declared him brought dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Friday night, Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia at the hospital’s police camp said.

Fahim cut his lip after falling inside a bus at Hatirjheel, Khilgaon Police Station OC Moshiur Rahman told bdnews24.com.

He was first taken to Khidmah Hospital in Khilgain and then to the DMCH, the OC said.

Quoting a doctor, the police officer said the student died from brain haemorrhage.

He left home in the evening, his family told the police.
