Police recovered the bodies early Tuesday from Haji Anwer Modern Diagnostic and Doctors’ Chamber in Savar Upazila’s Zirani Bazar area, said Sub-Inspector Kamrul Hasan of Ashulia Police Station.

The dead were identified as 25-year-old Farhad Hossain, a staffer of the diagnostic centre, and his 27-year-old friend Nabinur.

The local residents first discovered the bodies as the diagnostic centre was not shuttered, according to Sub-Inspector Hasan.

“Dry food, empty snack packets and liquor bottles were found on the spot,” said SI Hasan, suggesting they died from consuming alcohol.

Police are still chasing leads to the twin deaths.

Momtaz Begum, mother of Farhad, claimed that her son was killed but could not provide any information to back up her allegation.

Aminul Islam, the owner of the diagnostic centre, could not be reached for comment.

The bodies were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsies.
