The workers were constructing a toilet at a school next to the temple in Faridpur’s Madhukhali Upazila
The victim was identified as Saiful Alam Rakib who worked at a tailor's shop.
Rakib was born in Chauddagram village in Cumilla district. He lived in Miakhan Nagar area under Baklia Police Station in Chittagong.
Police said Rakib was attacked with knives by some assailants around 1am in Toktar Pool area, said Inspector Pranab Chowdhury, chief of Baklia Police Station.
Police have arrested Monir Hossain, one of three suspects. They were hunting for the other two.
The motive for the killing is still unknown. But police believe that the previous feud might be the motive.
Rakib was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead, said Alauddin Talukder, assistant sub-inspector at the CMCH Police Outpost.
