Primary education academy DG killed in Chittagong road crash

The director general of the National Academy of Primary Education (NAPE) has been killed in a road crash in Chittagong.

Police said the car carrying 55-year-old Fazlur Rahman collided with a loaded truck at Fatikchari Upazila on Saturday.
 
The accident, which took place around 7am, left four others injured.
 
They are Chittagong Primary Teachers' Training Institute (PTI) Superintendent Rafiqul Islam Talukder, Patiya PTI Superintendent Mushfeka Binte Sultan, PTI staffer Saiful and driver Ali Hossain.
 
They were on their way to the hill tract district of Khagrachari when the car crashed into the truck loaded with iron roads near the Fatikchari town.
 

The five were rushed to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Rahman dead, said the hospital police camp's Nayek Gourilal Chakma.
Rahman, a joint secretary, was an officer of the Bangladesh Civil Service's 1982 batch.
He joined as the chief of NAPE in January 2015.
Rahman, who hailed from Mymensingh, has served as an executive magistrate, additional deputy commissioner, marine safety officer, special magistrate and deputy inspector general of prisons.
