Dhaka has been ranked second among the cities with the highest number of active Facebook users.
The Bangladesh capital has 22 million active Facebook users, which is 1.1 percent of the total monthly active users of the social networking site across the globe, according to a study conducted by We Are Social and Hootsuit.
The study was conducted in 2016 on only Facebook but in 2017, the organisations are trying to depict the use of internet in their 'Global Digital Statshot Q2 2017' report.
Around 15 million reside in Dhaka. People staying around the Dhaka city corporations were also taken into account in the study.
Bangkok topped the list with 30 million active Facebook users while Jakarta, placed third, had nearly the same amount of active users of the site in Dhaka.

India is ranked second with 213 million active Facebook users.
The report also said internet reached around half the global population with 3.77 billion users.
They include 2.78 billion who are active in at least one of the social media platforms.
The number of social media users rose by 11 million in Bangladesh in past one year, which is the eighth fastest in terms of growth, according to the report.
Hootsuite is a social media management platform while social thinking is the agency approach of We Are Social to solving brand and business problems.
