Haroon-or-Rashid, Nesar Uddin new DGs of BTV, Betar

The government has appointed new chiefs in state-owned TV and radio stations.

SM Haroon-or-Rashid was appointed Bangladesh Television Director General on Thursday.
 
The information ministry's additional secretary was already acting as BTV DG.
 
M Hamid was the BTV DG until his contract ended on Apr 2, 2014.
 
After him, information ministry’s Additional Secretary Abdul Mannan filled the post as an additional task until Jan 16 this year. Rashid is taking over from Mannan.
 
Bangladesh Betar has got women and children affairs ministry’s Additional Secretary KM Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan as Director General.
 
His predecessor Kazi Akhter Uddin Ahmed was appointed acting secretary to the youth and sports ministry on Dec 2 last year.
 
In the same order on their appointments, the government also made Mohammad Abdul Kayum the DG of Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) and Md Hazrat Ali Chairman of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC).
 
Kayum was the director of Comprehensive Disaster Management Programmer while Ali was chairman of Bangladesh Jute Corporation.
