A tiger at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Gazipur has mauled off a visitor’s arm.
The incident on Tuesday resulted in the man, identified as ‘Angkan’, 26, to lose one of his hands from the elbow.
According to the safari park’s Range Officer Shibu Prasad Bhattacharya and Forester Krishna Kamal Majumder, the man had climbed up the wall of the tiger zone and was waving to a tiger, when another attacked him.
Other visitors pulled him out of the tiger’s jaws but the animal had bitten off the man's arm by then.
The man’s relatives rushed him to a hospital, said Range Officer Bhattacharya.
No further details of the incident or where the man was being treated were available.
