Announcing his appointment, the foreign ministry said on Friday that he was a “well-known” politician and businessman with “extensive experience in the field of oil and gas exploration”.
The oil-rich Kingdom is a crucial diplomatic mission for Dhaka as it is the largest manpower export destination for Bangladeshis.
They make up nearly a fourth of Bangladesh’s total expatriate workforce.
Moshi was the International and Diplomatic Affairs Secretary of Jatiya Party.
He was expelled from the party in September in 2013. He joined another expelled Jatiya Party leader Kazi Zafar Ahmed as his new party’s secretary general.
Raushon appointed him as the political secretary in February last year.
The foreign ministry said in his long association with the oil and gas industry as well as the telecom sector, he worked as Adviser to the British Petroleum, British Gas, TOTAL Oil France, Hong Kong Telecom, General Atomic, USA and Asia Satellite Co. Ltd.
The foreign ministry also introduced him as “a very well-travelled and well-read person”.
He studied LLB at Dhaka University.
