The Speedy Trial Tribunal 4 Judge ABM Nazmul Haque on Wednesday awarded death penalty to Mohammad Faysal.

On November 29, 2012, Dr Sajia Afrin Eva, 28, was found dead in her office of the Amtoli Brac clinic at the capital’s Dakshin Khan area.

A graduate from Sylhet Osmani Medical College, Eva had started working at the clinic the same month.
Eva's father Monirul Islam filed a case accusing three staff of Amtola Brac Clinic, including Faysal and some other who were not identified, on the same day.
Faysal, a caretaker of the clinic, went missing soon after the murder. He was arrested from Brahmanbaria on Dec 2.
The next day, Faysal gave confessional statement before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Hasibul Haque.
He confessed that he entered Eva's duty room at 12:30am that night and strangled her to death after failing to rape her.
"I am happy with the verdict but would be happier when it is carried out," said Eva's father Monirul Islam to bdnews24.com.
